Ciao RTX 50 Super? No…But late

Published:

Last week, we told you about a rumour that the next NVIDIA RTX 50 Super series might be cancelled, due to a shortage of 3 GB GDDR7 memory modules. As we’ve known for several weeks, the aim of this series of refresh boards is to boost the VRAM capacity of the boards via higher-capacity memory chips.

Here, via our colleagues at Videocardz, the RTX 50 Super, initially scheduled for Q1, on the occasion of CES 2026, will be postponed to Q3, i.e. the end of 2026. This information would mean that we’re a long way from seeing a new generation of GPUs, apart from the RTX 50 Super. Another unknown factor is the price and availability, in the coming months, of 3 GB GDDR7 memory modules. If, as we seem to be led to believe, this shortage is likely to last, it could (again) affect the arrival of refresh cards, or even lead to their cancellation. But our colleagues at Benchlife are even more cautious, since they indicate that, according to their source, NVIDIA has not yet communicated any technical information on this RTX 50 refresh series to its partners. One thing is certain: the shortage of memory modules is likely to have a major impact on the vast majority of hardware manufacturers!
